Complaint: My elderly parents had numerous accounts through which they conducted banking. My mother managed all of these accounts. As her health failed, I began assisting in paying bills. My mother died suddenly, and my father knew nothing about online banking and my mother 's passwords were unknown. My father attempted to add me to his Capital Bank ( now XXXX XXXX ) account, but didn't know the security information and the nearest branch was hundreds of miles from his home. I attempted to have the required documents for adding me sent to my father, but they refused because he didn't know the answers to security questions that my mother had made and, again, told him he would have to drive 200 miles to XXXX to add me in person. With neither of us having access to the account, we had no way of knowing what bills my mother had paid through the account or the account balance. Unsurprisingly, my father had his home and auto insurance cancelled for non-payment and received a letter from First Horizon demanding {$430.00}, nearly all of which was overdraft fees. He is XXXX, has no internet access, and has trouble with financial transactions more complex than using a debit card. I live 500 miles from him and have arranged autopay for all his bills, but I believe that XXXX XXXX took advantage of my father.

Complaint: I applied for a refinance with Iberia Bank. I was told that I was locked into a 3.375 % interest rate multiple times by XXXX XXXX. I signed the disclosures and provided information for appraisal to be ordered to move the process forward. Two days later XXXX ( who previously was so anxious to talk and text ) sent an email stating that she actually hadn't locked the rate and it had increased to 3.875 %. This equates to $ XXXX per month, $ XXXX more annually and over $ XXXX more throughout the life of the loan. While I understand mistakes happen this is one that is completely within Iberia 's sandbox and I shouldn't be penalized from a financial perspective.
