CC service: I have contacted your customer service for Credit card assistance. The average wait is over 90 minutes. Recently a card was lost and I reported it and requested expedited replacement. Today is the day the card was supposed to arrive. I contacted customer service. It will arrive in 7 to 10 business days. Simply put, that is not service. Because of competition you closed our local branch and the nearest is 27 miles in one direction. After 30 plus years of business with your ever changing brand, it appears time to move to another bank.
What world Or more like what year is this Bank working in? Your going to send me a paper check ? A paper check in today's banking system ? You were able to electronically take the money from my account, But you somehow can't electronically put it back? You all know you owe it to me why should I have to Waite two weeks for you to send a check? and then 3 to 4 days in the snail mail Like USPS has gotten any faster. Again If your can take it in 30sec.or less why can't you return it in 30sec ?

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a bank I am trying to close my account and unable to. I will tell everyone to never open an account with citizen bank there customer service is terrible and no one calls you back. And word of mouth is everything. I am beyond angry now.
CAUTION: I am attempting to transfer monies OUT of Citizens and am NOW being told that you can only transfer $15K PER MONTH to another bank. I cannot believe this is legal and I am in the process of moving up the corporate ladder to get my money OUT

I am 72 yrs old and don't see well. I received a flyer in the mail about getting a $300 bonus if I deposited $200/mo for 3 months ($600 total). I went to the bank in Wadswoth Ohio with the advertisement and talked with the woman bank manager there. I asked her to review the fine print for me. She said "yes you'll get $300 if you deposit 200/mo for the next three months. SHE DID TELL ME I NEEDED TO HAVE A CHECKING ACCOUNT. I talked with the man counterpart because she was not working. He told me they would not pay the bonus. I offered to open a checking to get the bonus and he said that wouldn't work either. I think the woman manager should have stood up and admitted she was part of the situation and given me some sort of relief.

The transition for HSBC customers to Citizens has been a night mare. They are making their customers do all the switching of direct deposits, automatic payments, etc. They are USELESS and the most unhelpful group I have ever dealt with. If I could give them minus stars I would.
Customer service is horrible (Miami Beach, Alton Road) with wait times up to 2 hours for basic processes such as opening an account. Constant turn in customer service staff. Do not recommend.

I have been locked out of our business account yesterday. I have called three different "Customer Service" numbers. I have been on hold for 90 minutes, 40 minutes ( and when rep picked up "couldn't hear me", though I could clearly hear them), and this current time for over 50 minutes. I also walked in to my local branch, but no one could help without an appointment... Next call is to Corporate. This is a very poor business model!

I opened checking account with Citizen's bank through the special promotion link that would pay me $300 if I set up direct deposit. I have completed my side of the contract but the bank continuously failed to keep up with the advertised promotion and did not deposit $300 in my account. I have contacted bank many times and was promised that I would see the credit deposited on certain dates but it did not happen, I am very unhappy with this situation as this is a false advertisement situation. I would not open the account if I knew that the bank would continuously lie to me, use my money, and would not keep up to their promises. In addition, customer service of this bank is terrible. No online support, chats take hours and get customers disconnected. Phone support takes hours. Transfers take much longer than they take with any other known banks. I need $300 deposited as promised and to be compensated $300 for my time and the fact is that you bank uses my money and locking funds for days.

Never take out a student loan from this bank. I did, paid it off and now my son’s credit is ruined. No one at the bank can tell me why it was not reported correctly. Better yet, no one seems to care!

New accounts have triggered an avalanche of daily Marketing emails. Attempt to contact Customer Service by phone, gave up after being on hold for 37 minutes. Local branch staff were excellent, but I am getting bad vibes from Corporate operations. No way to run any business, especially disturbing for a bank. PLEASE STOP ALL EMAILS, I will not do business long term with this annoyance.

Customer service sucks, called in 3 Saturdays in a row to report their banks closing before 12 noon with no return call or follow up. Citizens' bank hours of operation in Philadelphia sucks as they do not accommodate working people, no branch stays open until 6 pm for individuals the work 9 to 5. Saturdays the 4700 Frankford branch was closed at 11:40 am twice and the 3400 Aramingo was closed at 11:53pm when the are to stay open until 12 noon. I will be moving with my mortgage carrier Bank of America after 20 years of using citizens but during this Pandemic , they have not been customer friendly BOA stays open until 6 on Fridays and 1 pm on Saturday. They are more accommodating to their customers as well as being nation wide. Corporate needs to review their employees as they are going to cause you to lose more investments with their service.

800 922 9999 connects to Costa Rica where the person who speaks to you has a very poor grasp of english. I received another email that was clearly not from Citizens asking me to enter me personal data I needed to send this email to the fraud department was told there was no email address but gave me a phone number that was not operational and hung up on me . This is a disgrace.

This is the worst process I have ever gone through to process a mortgage application. I have had many mortgages in my life and this lender is SO bad they should lose their charter. As soon as the process is concluded I will be filing a formal complaint with the OCC and CFPB. Run, don’t walk, away from this bank. The epitome of ineptitude.

I opened my account about 8 yrs ago , it was a nice contact between 3 siblings . 6 yrs ago they closed the branch in my town . Now to make a deposit I must travel 50 miles . If a couple of your ATM's in my area could be updated so they would accept deposits , it would alleviate my predicament . {and increase your rating)
Bad bank. Their website says all mobile banking deposits drawn from Citizens accounts will be available the same business day. Upon depositing my check, it is being held for 3 business days. I have been on the phone with Citizen for 3 hours and NO ONE can give me a good answer. No provisional credit, nothing. Just waiting for the bank to clear my pay check when they get good and ready to.

I have been with Citizens Bank for over 8 years, and I simply cannot say enough about this Bank; Their Customer Service is simply outstanding, along with their professionalism and understanding. Joined Citizens Bank with a promo offer of $300.00 for a checking account with a direct deposit within 60 days. Also opened a savings account. So far I have been given 4 different dates for the payout. The dates come and go with no payout. Now the payout is August 31. I somehow don't believe it. Three times I spent my own money expecting this money. I have had to pawn and borrow until my paycheck because of this. Doesn't anybody know anything for sure at this bank. I want my $300.00. I feel like a character from "Paper Moon". Don't get it, do you?
I have been banking with Citizens Bank a few months now. When I set up my account I was asked if I wanted the "opting in or out" option (bank over draft protection plan) I told them no I was not interested in that if I don't have the funds I don't want the charge covered. Today Citizens bank allowed a charge to process that I didn't have the funds AVAILABLE to cover!!!!! Now there telling me its my fault there are certain transactions that can go through... I was never advised of this and when I spoke with the BANK MANAGER she told me how her tellers have been there for years and they cover everything and she was a bit rude about it. I have no reason to lie nor would I lie on someone the information wasn't given and then she replied she wasn't there she cannot confirm. Ok you cant confirm what was or wasn't said cause you wasn't there but you can say you bankers been there 10 yrs. they advise of everything. They refused to help now in stuck with a negative balance along with over draft fees I cant cover. This is terrible i am highly disappointed I guess cause I live in the inner city I'm just another low life to them. This is how you treat your valued customer
