Complaint ID: 7187680
Product: Credit reporting, credit repair services, or other personal consumer reports
Sub-Product: Credit reporting
Issue: Improper use of your report
Subissue: Reporting company used your report improperly
Company: BANK OF AMERICA, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION
Complaint: The Fair Credit Reporting Act ( 15 U.S. Code 1681 ) says ( 1 ) The banking system is dependent upon fair and accurate credit reporting. Inaccurate credit reports directly impair the efficiency of the banking system, and unfair credit reporting methods undermine the public confidence which is essential to the continued functioning of the banking system. So whenever there is a violation under the FCRA, it impairs the efficiency of the banking system. This is a violation of my privacy with my consumer report, since I control what is listed and what is not. In the event that any accounts are reported without my written consent, that is considered identity theft. This is a violation of both 15 U.S. Code 1681b ( 2 ) and 15 U.S. Code 1681c-2. This leads way to civil liability against the credit reporting agency for negligent and willful noncompliance under 15 U.S. Code 1681n, which allows for {$1000.00} per violation, for account listed without my expressed written consent.

Complaint: There has been a hard pull on my Credit report by Bank of America dated XX/XX/2023.
I never authorized such hard pull to Bank of America, or any products affiliated with them. I am not a Bank of America customer nor was I soliciting any of their products or products affiliated with them.
I have done extensive research to see what could have caused the hard pull, but all I can conclude is that this was not me, I never authorized this credit check. It was either an error or it was the result of fraud/identity theft.
I have sent a written letter to both Bank of America and the credit reporting agencies a few weeks ago but have yet to hear back.
I would like to speak with someone in Bank of America who can provide more context and ideally, acknowledge the mistake and have the hard pull removed from my credit report.

Product: Mortgage
Sub-Product: Conventional home mortgage
Issue: Trouble during payment process
Subissue:
Company: BANK OF AMERICA, NATIONAL ASSOCIATION
Complaint: Description of complaint : In XXXX, I spoke to BofA 's to cancel my owner 's HO3 policy for insurance on my new home. I was advised the HOA Master Policy covered it. I spoke with the insurance team and sent them a copy of the Master Policy on XXXX, and was told it was sufficient. Well 2 mortgage payments later, in XXXX, the escrow was still inclusive of the owner 's HO3. I called BOFA again, spoke with a representative that said she will have the insurance removed, but instead she attempted to cancel the entire escrow. I received notice that it was denied, on XX/XX/XXXX, so I called back and was told that they would correct the request, and resubmit, and I had to cancel with my insurance company. On XX/XX/XXXX, i got an email that it was denied again. I called back and was then advised that it would take 30 days to process, and that XXXX would not include the insurance, but it did. I called on XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with 2 mgrs - one named XXXX, who finally advised she contacted the insurance team and confirmed the HOA Master Policy was sufficient, and that the insurance team would clear it up witihin 30 days, as it had to go through the final steps, and any money owed would come back in a check. She told to continue paying the full amount in the interim. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, i received a call from " XXXX - XXXX XXXX in PA '' stating she needs proof of insurance. I asked her why, she said she didnt know and transferred me to inurance. Insurance representative XXXX said she sees the policy was cancelled and the Master Policy was proven ok, so she transferred me back to customer service to get the policy removed. She merged customer service, - who said insurance would do it. XXXX XXXX wouldn't speak to me again, and the had her agent transfer me to insurance manager XXXX, who hung up on me. This is very unprofessional and high level incompetence. I will let social media know that BofA is a horrible morgage servicer, as my house is the only thing in jeopardy due to their incompetence. And mgmt doesn't care. Im a sad First Time Home Buyer. The only ones that can resolve my issue dont care enough.
