Direct deposit, bill pay, and most consumer transfers use the ACH routing number.
Wire (10)
Domestic Fedwire may use a different number than ACH. Prefer the bank’s instructions for large or same-day wires.
Tips
- Routing numbers are public identifiers; they alone never authorize a transfer.
- Credit unions and thrifts may appear under a different legal name in the Fed file than in FDIC BankFind.
